maps and open source

So, one of the revisions that was requested for my thesis is that I include some illustrative maps. The problem: I only have two weeks to do this. Are there any open source or free to reproduce map archives out there?

@Analog would need more context - if you mean modern open source maps, openstreetmap.org and openmaptiles.org are things

If you mean historic... lots of national archives have old material out of copyright - I know that maps.nls.uk is sexy example though

@WilliamConey Modern open source is what I'm looking for, most to show some of the physical geography to orient some unfamiliar readers. I'll check out your suggestions, thanks!
