Greetings Fediverse, It is good to be here in such as a sea of creativity and brilliance. l am a publisher/editor/writer with a specialization in women beat poets, women's history, Chaucer and Cicero. I try to unredact the history of those who were left out, ignored or edited out. And there are many.

Remember how upset y'all were back in the end of May when you learned there were 215 children buried in unmarked graves at an internment center (residential school) in Canada?

Are y'all aware that number is up past 7,000 now, with less than two dozen schools in (out of thousands) partially surveyed.

(For scale, that means that Canadian residential schools were twice as fatal as German-operated POW camps for Canadian soldiers, in World War 2)

I hope y'all are appreciating the scale of the atrocity, and that y'all were ignorant to it.

Because here's the thing: Indigenous people were never silent about this happening. Y'all (and your parents, and grandparents, and their parents) just don't listen.

Are you listening now? Or are you still just listening when mass media talks about it?

Zoom class action in the US:

zoommeetingsclassaction.com/

"Zoom denies these allegations, denies any liability whatsoever, and believes that no member of the Settlement Class, including the Plaintiffs, has sustained any damages or injuries due to these allegations."

However, here is 85 million USD so you shut up about it and so we don't have to demonstrate that "end-to-end encryption" is actually not "end-to-end encryption".

Make racists afraid. Don't let people feel comfortable in their bigotry. Use the power of social stigma and disapproval to make it weird and uncomfortable to be racist.

Hey you! Please follow @GLaDTheresCake! She's unjustly suspended on Twitter. Only because she defended her right for existence. :newpride:

Urgent: Help with bills

Had the interview to become a writing tutor. Unfortunately the timing doesn't work out, with me graduating at the end of this semester.

I need help. I have $15 going towards $130 in bills (phone $70, internet $60). That means I'm short $115...

Can anyone help out an old cat?

Let's say I was looking for some of this style of cord lock, do they have a name? Additionally, is there a place in San Francisco that has them? I looked around online a little and didn't see any that were made out of anodized aluminum, that would be cool. I'll try Discount Fabrics on Cesar Chavez but maybe you have a favorite secret cord lock purveyor?

Such cuteness - I can barely take it! Meet my coworker's newly adopted kitten, Winnie.

One of my favorite things is to make authors I work with really happy. It has been thrilling to let Sassafras Lowrey know Urban Outfitters just bought thousands of their book. I well remember when they pitched their books to me. It was the day Brett Kavanaugh was voted in by the Senate. I was supersad and really mad. We had to process that weirdness and then Sassafras pitched. There was something in their manner that made me think they were used to be rejected by publishers. I was 1000% YES!!!

You know how the Eiffel Tower won the Grand Prize at the 1889 World Fair? Well, it had to share the glory with a book.

Not any book: A book ENTIRELY WOVEN IN SILK.

You heard right. And nerds, get this: All pages of this book were produced on the Jacquard loom in 1889, using thousands (200k-500k) of punch cards. Only 50-60 copies were made. >

A book I just published is in WashPo today! it is thriling to see Marita Golden unpack how systemic racism is so devastating to black women, especially physical and mental health: washingtonpost.com/local/stron
