Today's gender is concernedness and the smell of an old book.

I am acquiring books like a motherfucker right now, averaging 2 to 3 per week. Pitch me!

request for book recs, boosts welcome

Hi all!

One of my dear friends has a child who is beginning to question their gender identity (specifically, they have questions about what it means to be nonbinary, as they believe that they may be!).

Her kiddo is eleven and is looking for books about coming out as nonbinary and support/affirmation for those that are.

Book recs for mom and kid would be greatly appreciated. ty!

A friend didn't take me seriously when I said that Facebook's apps (and others) are literally listening to your conversations around your phone all the time.

Then we had a (face to face) conversation about a nonbinary young person, and they started seeing ads for trans services and nonbinary info.

Now they believe me. ^^

What a nice surprise to receive on a less than stellar day.

someone referred to the "year of unprocessed grief" and it really struck me because it's not like i'm unhappy to be getting to do things like go to the gym again but i feel fucking weird about it because there is this desperate attempt to refuse acknowledgment of how shit this past year was. get back to economic productivity, money producing organism. it's fucking dehumanizing is what it is

Damn the pain, it must be written.”−Bonnie Bremser, Troia

Thrilled, honored and nervous about being asked to curate a restrospective of the work of poet ruth weiss by a small museum. How do you even encapsulate such a remarkable life? All ideas welcome!

I sometimes question the Sisyphean chore of hauling bathwater to the garden but not today:

I've been dreading being summoned to the home office 3000 miles away. Of course, it happens on a Sunday night...
