Student technology panel

Yesterday my department had a panel of students talk about their technology use - and it was really good to hear. Like how they manage all this information coming at them, whether it's seven types of notifications on their phones for their outside responsibilities, or each professor sending them to a different homework platform.

They caught themselves goofing off, doing homework and catching up on email during lecture. I wonder if students sleep in class anymore. They liked in class polling to keep focused, but liked discussion based classes even more.

Most of the undergrads were afraid of finding and checking out books from the library (my trick in library school for dealing with the 3rd largest library in N America was to find the books online and have them delivered to a smaller university.)

Also the students overall liked studying in the library and using other library services - "There's food and chargers - they have everything."

@Holly
That sounds like a reasonable working definition of 'everything.'
