Hi everyone! I'm a community engagement and learning librarian at a public library in Iowa (since July) and former secondary journalism/English teacher. I have an MEd in curriculum and instruction, and MS in Library and Information Sciences. I'm currently in charge of collection development for romance and the 100s (philosophy, the paranormal and self help) and my department is looking for adult programming ideas - both education and entertainment oriented.

Have you already heard about @inventaire ?
It's an #opensource plattform that let you share books with others.
The interesting part for you propably is that the data of the books is in direct exchange with wikidata.
By that, if one adjusts or add a book description on inventaire, it's made available for all.

While it might not fit within the parameters of your department, it is about the importance of making memories with loved ones before it’s too late. As someone who grew up spending a lot of time at my local library where I grew up in Iowa, I really appreciate the fact you're continuing making your Iowa library great. (I also love that you used Marian the librarian for your profile pic!)
