interesting psych question looking for answers 

I usually associate dreams with good sleep: if I remember vivid dreams, I know I'm sleeping well.

Recently, after a hectic and sleep-deprived week, I suddenly had this weird phase during my unusual afternoon nap, where I'd wake up every 5-10 minutes or so having had a very vivid (and not necessarily brief) dream.

That got me and my friend thinking: is there a connection between deprivation and the stage? Refs welcome! :boost_requested:
