I'm honestly very very disappointed that they didn't do the uhh "Vulcan frot" (weirdo two-finger rubbing thing) as foreplay, though

And I know they were aiming for another addition to the "Tilly or Stamets or whoever pumping their fist to the concept of science or math so that you can squee at it" supercut that someone's definitely preparing

But the scene where Uhura goes all wide-eyed at the end over Pike saying what their uhh job is in Starfleet

It just felt really patronizing

@shahaan The whole thing felt like it was the result of a brainstorming meeting where one of the higher-ups at CBS told them "we need a Spock who FUCKS"

@shahaan @bgcarlisle Nu-Trek just doesn't get Vulcans at all, and it's really depressing (especially since early Disco had Sonequa Martin-Green doing an *excellent* job at portraying a human who was culturally vulcan, which got my hopes up).
