I recently started watching the Great Canadian Baking Show and it’s hard to describe how comforted it makes me feel toward the end of this awful year. More cakes! More breads! More pies!

Why does just watching them being made make me feel almost as good as making them? Strange...

B/c there’s not enough going on towards the end of this year, let’s have flooding in our parking garage in some holiday days. Yes. Sounds great. And rain starting again tomorrow. 🙄

I love that the Teaching and Learning Inquiry journal has created a Distinguished Reviewer Award to acknowledge the hard work of article peer reviewers, and that they named it after Gary Poole!

Tomorrow I'm doing an online workshop on Open Educational Resources and getting started revising an open textbook in Pressbooks. Sneak peek:

Our son shared this interesting video by Minute Physics about why masks work better than you'd think and I learned something today:

And check out this great page by Aatish Bhatia on the multiplicative power of masks:

I hate to ask, but here goes.

I'm looking for a role as a #frontend #developer. #Contracts or #fulltime. Preferably #UK where I have previous #remote work ex from.

I've been looking a while and nothing with the right fit has come along. Work life balance is super important. If UK, happy to work completely in your timezone!

My site is and I'm happy to email you my CV/resume. Will start immediately once we're on the same page. 💯

#Boost please?

Cool idea as a way to introduce people to open education: 5 weeks of open edu challenges...activities that take 10 minutes or less. Nice!

The Uni of British Columbia recently launched a new Indigenous Strategic Plan, and I'm looking forward to working with many others at the institution on implementation of the plan.

BCcampus in British Columbia is hosting a webinar Oct. 14 on "Creating Accessible in Pressbooks":

mh & physical health issues

In serious need of exercise for mental health but:

Don’t want to go to gym due to COVID risk

Can’t be outside very long due to air quality being awful bc of wildfire smoke...with asthma not good combo

Guess I’ll be doing laps around the kitchen island...

Got my first haircut in about 8 months yesterday. It had gotten so long an inch off hardly seems noticeable. COVID protocols strong, including only a few minutes of hair dryer (now I’m curious why a longer blow dry would be a problem when 3 mins okay).

Interview with Daniel Heath Justice from Uni of British Columbia Vancouver on decolonizing open education, Indigenous voices and perspectives in open archives such as Wikipedia, and more:

Looking for people that organized scientific conferences (including something resembling poster sessions) online. What tool(s) did you use? How was your setup? What went well and what would you do differently next time? Boosts greatly appreciated.

Pics from a hike halfway up Blackcomb Mountain this week (near Whistler, British Columbia, Canada). Our 13 year old son was not pleased. But it was beautiful!

It's not easy to find and follow people who write about things I'm interested in Mastodon. I would be very grateful If you can get me some recommendations who to follow 🙏

I like posts about:

®️ #IntellectualProperty: #copyright, #copyleft, #trademarks, #patent law, etc.

🎨 #ArtHistory

🎸 #PunkRock, #Grunge, any good #music

⚖️ #Constitucional law, #HumanRights

and any other things you guess I would be interested :)

(Boosts are appreciated 🍀)
