Lesson Planning, First Class of the Semester
In the past, my first class of the semester has pretty much been a perusal of the syllabus. Inspired by this article, I'm trying to make better use of the opening session: https://www.chronicle.com/interactives/advice-firstday?
Nothing too intensive, but I'm hoping to make it more likely that students feel curious (and maybe even a bit excited :) ) when leaving that first class.
