Covid-19 stats 馃嚛馃嚜 馃嚚馃嚘

7-day average cases for Covid-19, yesterday and a year ago yesterday for Germany:

2020 Jun 9: 375 cases
2021 Jun 9: 2552 cases

For Canada:

2020 Jun 7: 679 cases
2021 Jun 7: 1795 cases

We're still at 7x (馃嚛馃嚜) and 3x (馃嚚馃嚘) the number of cases compared to the same time last year

I was hoping things would be better

@bgcarlisle ok, but testing is a million times higher now too

@bgcarlisle and more importantly, deaths are much lower

@eearroyo1312 @bgcarlisle yeah, but
a lot of (antigen) tests in the past month or two were fake :/

Covid-19 stats 馃嚛馃嚜 馃嚚馃嚘

@meena @bgcarlisle at least in Germany, the antigen tests are not counted in the statistics, precisely because they're so unreliable

@meena @bgcarlisle lol

So you cannot compare countries in this

And you cannot rely on the Mexican numbers

But if you take Mexico, where testing was essentially never increased, the cases are actually much lower now
