Why is it that there is always some typo in that manuscript that you don't see until AFTER you hit the Submit button?

At least with online submissions you can re-upload.

Anyway, this is journal #2 for this manuscript. Fingers crossed.

@robertwgehl @WilliamConey Curious, why wait a whole year to withdraw? Was it a very specific and perfect journal for your research? I'm a postdoc, so still learning about these things. We withdrew a paper that sat at a journal for 6 months with no indication that the editors had even attempted looking for reviewers.

I transitioned during my college years (math major) and I got to watch my privilege dissolve in real time

within 6 months on hormones, I was having men talk over me in class. when my boobs got above a C, I could give an answer, get ignored, then have a guy give the same answer and get kudos for it. right in front of my fucking face

For anyone who's interested in creating their own packages, I've put together a brief intro on how to make them [1].

Hopefully it's a bit easier to follow than the official documentation for getting started. Any feedback is gladly welcomed

Abstract submission gripes, anxiety

@twsh I think that's common for large conferences in my field (life sciences). I think the point is they want people to gain more value from going to the conference, see more recent results, and have discussions that impact future publications.

How a Bitcoin Evangelist Made Himself Vanish, in 15 (Not So Easy) Steps

Ignore the "Bitcoin" in the title, this is pretty interesting

@rusty I do, for short periods of time. It reminds me of looking things up on my local library's computers, back when digital catalogs were really new.
