currently reading, discomfort, religious fundamentalism
It's weird. I'm reading Tara Westover's _Educated_ & it's making me much more physically uncomfortable than the last two novels we've read in class.
I don't know if it's because the power hierarchy here is very white & patriarchal / religious fundamentalism while the others were not. Or if it's less about "relatability" of experience & more something with the narrative voice. But it's a Thing that's making this reading quite hard.
