I've tried a few ways to organize my papers, and while #kbibtex is amazing for handling a single bibliography, I wanted something to keep my full collection of papers and books under control.
So I moved to #zotero, and I'm pretty happy with it. Especially with the "Better bib(la)Tex" plugin, the "keep updated" option for exporting to .bib files is wonderful.
Now I have to find a way to keep the library on my NAS but use the client from my laptop - 1/2
@mprv I'm not, I am physically moving my library between computers on a USB drive. However, if you can put your library, the entire Zotero library folder, on a mountable network drive that can be mounted on every client, you can then use the library contained as your working Zotero library, just change it in settings.
I didn't know that, thank you. I have to figure out a way to do that. Maybe sshfs to my home server?
I don't know if that's a good idea.
