Try it..its peer to peer...no central server :)

Yah true..but I like the peer to peer aspect..I am sure the app will improve over usage to suit our styles
@harikesh I'm not sure about that. They seem to be making an app for the particular use case I mentioned so I'm not sure they have any incentives to broaden that use case.

But since the app is free software it will definitely enable/accelerate development of other apps based on same technology (similar one is ring.. But I find ring slightly buggy at present). But briar works fine for me and friends at present
@harikesh I try all kinds of encrypted messenger just for the kicks, but Briar seems to have an even higher barrier to adoption than most. The use case it seems to be built for is people in totalitarian regimes -- which is great! People in those situations could really use an app like that. But it makes it unlikely to be adopted in any other situation.
