Hi, I am a PhD student from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Poland. My research fileds are discrete optimization, cloud computing and software engineering

Perhaps an unsolved theoretical objection to using dropout as Bayesian posterior? But nonetheless despite this apparent theoretical concern, I have had very good experience with dropout-as-posterior. In many occasions the posterior predictive generated by dropout looks just awesome.

How can a small business or small tech activist group, such as disroot.org/, or even some amateur Mastodon services, implement this complicated GDPR thing correctly without hiring a lawer? Now does it mean that almost all amateur technical services can be sued for violation of GDPR if it promotes ideas that the government or big companies don't like?

Sometimes I look at the unending vastness of mathematics and wish I had five more lifetimes to study more of it.

Just tried #brutaldon ( github.com/jfmcbrayer/brutaldo ) -- it's a lightweight Mastodon web frontend that doesn't require Javascript and so it supports Lynx, w3m etc. Or, it just works in Firefox and Chrome without using a bunch of RAM maybe? If you like the sound of these things: it does these things.

Oh boy. github.com/signalapp/Signal-De

tl;dr Signal Desktop is based on Electron, which in turn is based on Chromium 58-59, and it seems to be affected by bugs that have been fixed in Chrome/Chromium 60-62.

Gotta love #Electron. As somebody said "now everyone is running 5 different instances of old insecure versions of the most scrutinized and attacked application on Earth."

#InfoSec

Why does my interface always keep changing languages randomly? Sometimes it turns Swedish, sometimes English sometimes Chinese sometimes Japanese... I understand all of them but any way to fix it to a single language? I am on firefox + linux. The Android also has this problem, though on Android it's only Chinese and English.

#introduction

I am a masters student in mathematics at University of Göttingen in Germany; from USA.

I like Riemann spheres, algebraic geometry, number theory, class field theory, low dimensional topology, visualization/notation and physical models of mathematical objects. I used to do computer programming; but you can never really leave the code behind.

I joined this instance to find other mathematicians because it can get lonely being fascinated by obscure hard to explain stuff.

My about epistemic logic, card games, drinking logicians, gossip, binary decision diagrams, and muddy children is out: malv.in/phdthesis/ and I shall defend it on June 13th in .

Extremely interesting insight: the connection between and . Perhaps the computation of deep learning can be done in a new, group-theoretical framework?
