@jaranta Just a guess (did not read the article), guys saw a good thing and wanted in on the action, thus pushing women out. Or saw how well women were at programming and felt threatened. Or both.

@jaranta Interesting that one of the factors they point out is the, for lack of a better word, credentialing of the field.

@mbbrown I think I've seen similar things reported in other fields too, with things like median salary following changes in gender ratio. (I think that was about medical field, but can't recall the source anymore.)
