Still thinking about an article I read that studied how men of colour experienced trash talking in video games. 16 different white men contacted the researcher to tell her that trash talking either didn't exist or wasn't a problem.

The full report is enormous. TBH, I will only read parts near to my own studies. As an idealistic young researcher I once bought the full paper report, but it is just too much.

environmental storytelling is when you put graffiti in your game that says 'I hear there is some good wine in this cellar' then in the cellar you put a skeleton and graffiti that says 'oh no'

It is possible to be fascinated by technology, including AI, voice recognition, etc and still horrified by the companies currently manning the gates by which people can access that technology.

I'm being evaluated (again) for something and was surprised to see that teaching nine different courses over nine years (about three every year, so not just nine in total) means that "the applicant does not have a very extensive teaching experience." I guess my expectations are not very well calibrated.

And seems the autoresponder has given up after a while. So in the end, probably only a few thousand unnecessary emails were sent.
