The time component in geology is ever verry looooong due to the lack on detailed high resolution data in past. Chronostratigraphy/Biostratigraphy is not neccessary depending on long time periods: it depends on huge and rapid changes. The best is: a huge extinction which could be detect in sediments worldwide - best in marine deposits.
In this matter: #Anthropocene makes sense more & more...
