I have a tech enabled class for my Friday sections this semester. In this building that seems to mean there's two tvs instead of a projector and there's an app that students can install that allows them to put content up on the screens. Oh and dry erase instead of chalk.

I have some mixed feelings about this.

On the one hand, the projector was nice because it got out of the way if I needed to use the chalk board more, these tvs are smack in the middle of where I want to write.

And it feels like there's this pressure to use the room's tech features all the time which seems like a bad thing to get into. Shoehorning the tech into lessons where it doesn't make sense is not going to be a good movement for student learning.

On the other hand, it can be really useful for getting students more involved. I did an activity today where each group was supposed to find a video of the vocal tract in action, describe what we were seeing and then show the video. It went really wel
