Hello!

I'm a cinema media studies and cultural studies college sophomore who's pretty new to social media! Hoping to meet new people with some shared interests! She/her pronouns :)

I love monster culture and horror films/tv, and am interested in a variety of topics in social justice. In particular, I'm invested in intersections of race/ethnicity, class, capitalism/labor, the criminal justice system, medicine, and feminism. I also enjoy art and love spiders!

Hi folks. Our family is having cash issues; big invoices haven't been paid, and I'm broke. We chose to survive by ensuring we have food, but now we can't afford my partner Susan to cover public transit costs to make it to new work orientation next week.

If you have anything to spare, please consider helping our family.

Unfortunately, sans cash in person, our recourse is using PayPal: `susan@interi.org`

Thanks.

Hey everyone! @pupper and I are down to needing around £200 to cover everything for this month. Massive thanks and love and, if wanted, hugs to everyone who has boosted and donated. You're all awesome. I'm hoping this will be the last month that we'll need to ask for help to get by. Fingers crossed!

First off, a reminder that you don't have to be a member of the Sunbeam City coop or even our Mastodon instance to edit the #SunbeamWiki! Anybody who wants to contribute is welcome to :sunbeam:

That said, if you're not sure where to start, here are some pages/sections in need of some love:
• The food/farming page needs resources on goats, veganism, cooking, and food preservation wiki.sunbeam.city/doku.php?id=
• The technology page needs resources on radio, and can always use more cool software (dat, for instance, isn't represented) wiki.sunbeam.city/doku.php?id=
• The energy page currently has no resources on sustainable or DIY energy storage wiki.sunbeam.city/doku.php?id=
• If you have a link you think is helpful but don't know where to put it/are too nervous to mess with the formatting, you can drop it on our link dumping ground page wiki.sunbeam.city/doku.php?id=

:boost_ok: Please boost! Let's make our wiki the most comprehensive #solarpunk resource on the web :greensun:

"my fav thing in wildlife research is the concept of animals being “trap happy” meaning the same animal goes into a trap on purpose again and again after it’s caught the first time bc it was like “hey…..there was food in there and Zero (0) predators and then they just let me go in the morning…….”

on one hand it fucks up our data but on the other hand……..I Get It you Funky Little Rodents"

Oh hell yeah, thank you @solarpunkgnome for adding a link to the wiki and introducing me to the Little Free Pantry project, which is #solarpunk as hell. It's a Little Free Library but for nonperishable food!

Jobs that are more dangerous than cops:

1. slaughterhouse workers
2. taxicab drivers
3. lumberjacks
4. fishing boat workers
5. roofers
6. trash/recycling workers
7. steel workers
8. truck drivers
9. agricultural workers
10. groundskeepers

But they don't get any special immunity, special weapons, or military-style state funerals.
