the other day son told me: *eu amo lendo (I love reading.GER). This is agrammatical. Not "wrong" prescriptively, but something no native speaker would say (it's "eu amo ler", infinitive). I mean he's a native speaker, but you know what I mean. Living in an Anglophone area, he's starting to transfer English grammar literally to L1.

He also often struggles to find a Portuguese word, and coin things like "governamento" (standard pt. governo) or false friends like degrau (pt. "step") for "degree".
