@aparrish and @janellecshane do fun generative art/text/craftiness with artificial neural networks.

@thelibrarian Good to hear, my MSc thesis utilised genetic algorithms! (to optimise simulator parameters for a complex adaptive system.)

Since then I have shifted camps to Bayesian methods and approximate inference for generative models.

@micmic I think that is one of their better uses. I was using them as a novel way of classifying land cover from remotely sensed imagery on a per-pixel basis (which is a poor use for them, better to use them to tune another type of classifier, IMO).
