I hate Windows. I tried using my computer, but instead it's doing a virus check. And I don't have the authority to stop it, despite it being my computer.


@jonne Oh yes, annoying stuff. I sometimes think of the critical uses people may have for their computers. You wouldn’t want your pacemaker to start doing a virus check all of a sudden and become unusable. Ok, I know windows probably shouldn’t be used for anything critical...

@mmin It's the most used operating system, but you can't use it for anything important, because you can't trust it.

@mmin @jonne A long time ago I volunteered for medical research where magnetic imaging was used to get images of the veins in my legs. When imaging started, the machine started making ticking sounds, like a clock. Then the ticking stopped and I yelled to ask If it was over. The doctor in the adjacent room cursed; the Windows machine controlling the imaging equipment had crashed.
