Discussing with @SamHuskey@twitter.com at his Oxford seminar on digitallatin.org/: how many of our apparatus annotations are no mere substitutions? How many of them can be formalized? At digitallatin.org/ they're trying to create formalizations for as many as possible

I very much agree with the distinction that .@SamHuskey@twitter.com is doing in his Oxford seminar on digitallatin.org/: "choose all variants from N" is not the same (but could misleadingly be regarded as) "show me N" (we leave off so many 'non-significative' variants, when we collate)

.@SamHuskey@twitter.com, Oxford seminar on digitallatin.org/: using a (semantic) "markdown-like" approach (simplified encoding) and CSV tables to keep philologists's hands off the source code

.@SamHuskey@twitter.com, Oxford seminar on digitallatin.org/, creating an user-friendly, sourcecode-free environment for critical editing of classical texts : "let textual critics be textual critics; don't make them be digital humanists if they don't want to be""

T. Ricchieri: the apparatus criticus of the edition by Klotz (Leipzig 1923) is not trustworthy (it does not report MSS readings faithfully)

T. Ricchieri: Priscian in his section "De subiunctivis" (XVIII 258,1-264,15) cites Cicero's De praetura urbana extensively (and then says so "ex uno libro Ciceronis tot usus proponere studui"). Ricchieri will compare readings from MSS with readings from Priscian
