You know instance admins can read your direct messages in the fediverse? Twitter and Facebook also can - and sometimes do - read your private messages, and they have infrastructure to comply with law enforcement requests. I'd love to see some end-to-end encryption built into Mastodon clients.

I do have a university degree in physics btw but my personal opinion is that it shouldn't matter... After all everyone has universal access to information nowadays - by means of the Internet...

My avatar comes from one of my simulations of helium. It shows what seems to be a stable periodic orbit resembling the spherical symmetry of the chemical helium orbital. (high path history density corresponds to high quantum mechanical probability density)
