Airports use up a lot of land. I shouldn't be surprised but I am. Also, nice location choices for golf and large family landowners.

@ton This is fascinating! I'm curious now about the ratio of commercial to general aviation airports: we have many more of the latter, but does the relative hugeness of the big commercial hubs outweigh that?

@ton One thing I see missing here is roads. How much space is taken up my state highways and interstates?

@ton I would have expected a lot more desert, and certainly, not merged with wetlands...
