Vegan Cantuccini in Python
Baked some vegan cantuccini for my students for the last session before christmas. Used the source code of the recipe[1] to explain the advantages of free and open and repeat some #Python basics.
openTUHH | Policy of Openness in Research and Teaching
Happy and proud to say that the Hamburg University of Technology now has an English translation of its Policy of #Openness in #Research and #Teaching online.[1]
Writing the policy was a collaborative process with colleagues and presidents that I could participate in as a co-author.
Looking forward to observing what effects it has when going forward to further opening up #science and teaching.

decentralizing
just downloaded all my instagram data, and once i stare at it for long enough, i'm going to write myself a script to turn it into a big static archive on my own site, and then i can purge my instagram account.
(i'll share the script if it's not too cumbersome for a not-me person to use it!)
Digital floor plans; This is where we live in
When playing with https://35c3.bleeptrack.de/ I realized that it's not just circuit diagrams that we see but also floor plans of the digital housings we live in. Sometimes there are doors, sometimes not, sometimes it's a loft, sometimes a hut.

Revision.io; Interplanetary Database
Had a great hackathon at https://revision.io/ yesterday working on a blockchain-based system for tracking and recognizing contributions in students' projects.
Learned that there is #IPDB [1] based von https://www.bigchaindb.com/ which seems to be a good supplement to #IPFS.
And I learned that some companies start transforming to a "purpose economy" model.[2]
Let's see what day2 brings!

Transparent Collaboration in Class
Quite happy about the session with my students this morning. I could inspire them to share a #Zotero group with each other and me where they collect the literature for their papers collaboratively.
This gives me the chance to recommend literature directly by dragging it into their folders. And I can comment the #literature they find.
Looking forward to how this goes on!
